10 Feb Stuart Henry
Arizona native, Stuart Henry, grew up sailing at his summer home on Lake Geneva in Wisconsin. He became enrolled in the summer programs there and began to race Optis. Stuart also began crewing on Scow boats and his father’s Melges 24. After wanting to compete at a higher level of competition, Stuart began competing in national and international Opti events. He traveled to regattas in Argentina, Holland, and the Virgin Islands. During the school year, Stuart was so determined to train at a higher level of competition that he would drive from Phoenix, AZ to Los Angeles, CA to train.
Two years ago, Stuart moved to Pebble Beach, CA and began racing FJs for his high school team. Stuart heard of Oakcliff through his colleagues and applied to the program to expand his knowledge of match racing. Stuart hopes to become a well-rounded sailor during his time at Oakcliff and continue to be involved with the dinghy world.
