Nathan Olmsted

Nathan Olmsted is a 15 year old sailor from Minnetonka, Minnesota. He has previously competed in Optis, and currently competes in lasers, high-school team racing, keelboat match racing and is the skipper of a local youth E Scow team. Nathan got his first taste of offshore racing during his first Chicago to Macinac race, and realized he wanted more, so he saw Oakcliff as a way to accelerate his learning in a field where he had little experience. He sees offshore sailing as a way to do more than the mid-west scow sailing and plans to apply what he learned to sail boats in the Great Lakes for the next couple of years. Besides sailing Nathan also is nationally ranked competition climber. Nathan will be a skipper at E Scow nationals this year and can’t wait to apply what he learned at Oakcliff to national regatta.
