15 May Dylan Saxman
My name is Dylan Saxman. I started sailing at 8 where I found my passion for the sport. Throughout my short sailing career I have tried to spread myself out and try sailing in as many classes as I can. To name a few I’ve sailed 420’s, FJ’s, and j22/24’s in High School. Additionally, I’ve had opportunities to sail 505’s, lightnings, thistles, and an assortment of J class boats. After all of this experience, I finally found my route and where I want to go with the sport which is to bow professionally on big boats.
My goal in coming to Oakcliff is to learn and to boost my sailing skills in order to hopefully one day be able to participate in The Ocean Race and many other big ticket long distance races. I’m going to complete this task by getting as much experience in inshore and offshore racing/practice. But alongside my goals I would love to learn more so I can continue to share my knowledge with others.
